Biography
Hailing from the icy waters of Cape Town, Tanika learned to surf at the age of nine. Starting in Muizenberg's 'Surfer's Corner', when her family moved to Long Beach, Kommetjie she graduated to bigger waves. Tanika has a goofy-footer and with plenty of left-handers in the Kommetjie area, she always had a left to ride. Long Beach has waves on almost every day of the week, and it is these waves that she picked up her dynamic style from. Tanika has a fast and loose style, with a stylish forehand off-the-top, and it’s this flair that she translates in front of the camera. Multiple South African Surfing champion, Tanika represented South Africa in the ISA World Games several times.
