Biography
Dynamic artist and musician Caleb Meyer’s journey with music began in his former years. Now that he is maturing in his craft, he honours the sacred tradition of South African Jazz by using his compositions to express and heal collective wounds, by using music as a conduit for healing and expression.
His compositions pay homage to Black excellence by embodying the essence of African musicality and infusing these narratives with elements of love, liberation and authenticity. His work is rooted in spirituality, rhythm and reframing the archival self.
Meyer has spread his message of love and self-knowledge on local stages and events like ‘Jazz on the Lawn”. He has since released his debut single ‘Sakkie Suike’ which serves as a musical repository, community and ancestry.
