Liza Scholtz can be seen in the feature film, Let’s Not Talk About It, directed by Khalid Eljelailati – screening 22 + 29 July.
This is Liza’s take on her character, her experience and a glimpse into her process of connecting with Zahira :
Let’s not talk about it is a tragic love story where a young woman needs to choose between the loyalty she has for her family, and the relationship with her girlfriend. My character Zahira bottles everything inside and is lying to everyone that she cares about. The guilt she feels manifests in very self destructive ways. Embodying this character, I really had to allow myself to be deeply witnessed while simultaneously hiding. I am so appreciative of the directing of Khalid because he really encouraged us to take our time with performances and what was coming up for us during the scenes.
